Scalp massage: how, when and why to do it
The whole curly community is getting crazy - and for a reason! What are talking about? Scalp massage, a real panacea for every curl type, to calm skin, to boost hair growth - and, why not, also to enjoy a relaxing and restoring moment. Here are all its benefits!
Why?
Scalp massage is a great natural way to tonify your skin, eliminate itch and dandruff and boost a healthier and quicker hair growth.
In fact, this massage stimulates skin microcirculation, channeling to the scalp a largest amount of blood: more blood means more oxygen and more nutrients, and therefore a higher beneficial components intake both in hair and skin - which immediately look healthier and stronger.
And, most of all, it is a great way to take a moment off, to take care of yourself and relax!
How?
1. Gently place your fingers on your skin, running them through your hair, in the area right above your forehead.
2. With your fingertips - be careful not to use your nails! - lightly press your skin, and make small circular movements, paying attention to move just your skin and not to rub with your nails.
3. Slowly go on to the back of your head, massaging all your scalp area.
When?
When you wash your hair: it is fundamental for your skin to be warm when you do your massage, so it would be perfect to do it during wash - in particular, at the moment you apply Moisturizing Shampoo.
Pay attention not to do it too often: scalp massage also stimulates sebum production, which, when exceeding, might make your hair get greasy in a very short time!
Take care of your curls, and make them shine at any time!
