Reviving curls in the days after shampooing: all the secrets of refresh
The days after the wash day are always an unknown factor. Despite all the care you can put into the washing and styling routine of your curly hair, there is always uncertainty: they get crushed while you sleep, they limp if you sweat, they get frizzy if there is too much humidity, etc. But washing them every day is out of the question – both for reasons of time and for the risk of putting too much stress on the hair – so what can be done to make them presentable in the post-shampoo days?
The simple and ingenious remedy is called refresh, a technique capable of guaranteeing definition and volume to curls in much less time than the normal wash day process! Here are some tips on the best techniques to perform a masterful refresh:
The classic method
1. Divide hair into sections and proceed to wetting them one at a time.
2. Once the section is wet, apply a knob of Gel Custard only on the lengths.
3. Use your favorite accessory to style and detangle hair.
4. Scrunch... a lot of scrunch!
5. Repeat the operation on the other sections. Et voilà: curls like new!
You can also apply a little Curl-Activating Volumising Foam before or after the Moisturizing and Modeling Custard Gel: it will help you maximize volume!
The flash refresh
It's the perfect technique when you're short on time, or even to revive curls when you're away from home: dilute a small amount of Gel Custard with water in the Refresher and spray the mixture directly on the hair. Proceed immediately with scrunching and voilà: curls like new!
This method will give new definition to your curls without weighing them down but be careful, by applying less product and in a less precise way the effect will be less lasting than the classic refresh!
Ultra definition with the finger coil
If you have time and want to restore maximum definition to your curls, after wetting the hair with the Refresher, divide the hair into sections and the sections into strands. Apply the Custard Gel to each strand and roll it around your finger until you reach the roots. Once the procedure has been completed throughout the hair, activate the curls with scrunching and dry them with the diffuser.
The extra advice
Turn your head upside down and, using the diffuser, give your curls a pass of cold air, massaging the roots at the same time by making circular movements with your fingers: this procedure will immediately give your curls more volume!
